A trip to Fowey

I recently became a tour guide in Cornwall for a week whilst my family were down for my graduation. I tell you what, you think you know loads of places for when people come and visit however you soon realise you basically spend your time going to the same places?! Seems pretty sad considering I now spend most of my time living in one of the most beautiful places in England.

A couple of weeks beforehand I ‘pushed the boat out’ and Jake and I went off exploring a new town I had never been too before. Fowey…literally half an hours drive from where I live and to be honest I’d never even heard of it!

I fell in love with it pretty much as soon as we arrived. I think if you imagine a typical ‘Cornish’ town, Fowey is the real thing. It is so quaint and pretty.

When Jake and I went we only really had a part of the afternoon to explore as I had work in the evening but what we did see was lovely. We took a little picnic and found a bench overlooking Fowey and the harbour.

Most beautiful little view through this wall!

So, when the time came for my family to come down I knew I had to take them there. It was my Dad, Stepmum, Jake, Jakes parents and myself. We headed down to Fowey lunchtime’ish’ as we knew we wanted to take a boat trip around the area.

We bought tickets from a little beach hut on the quayside for £8 each which enabled us 45 mins on the boat which I think was a pretty good deal! It was a beautiful, hot, sunny day.
